Collaborated on an Issue for the UWRF campus
- Issue: Transfer students do not get the proper orientation to the campus. We would like to find solutions to help ease this transition for transfer students.
- Ideas: Have several mandatory presentations in which transfer students can choose which one works best for their schedule. Then break down into smaller groups. This way they can get a tour of the campus, and get to know other transfer students. Also, we would like to conduct surveys or interviews asking transfer students how their transition was into the school.
For next meeting:
- All group members will post their ideas for explaining what the problem is, specifics on the causes and effects, and why the issue is a concern to UWRF.
- We will be using Google Docs to collaborate our ideas until our next group meeting on Oct. 10th
This is a great topic and one that really does need to be addressed. Just be careful that you're not jumping right to possible solutions. The first presentation is strictly about establishing the problem. In what ways are transfer students not transitioning well at UWRF? What is the negative impact of the current transition policy? Remember, you need to first convince us there's a problem before "selling" us on your solution (which is delivered at the end of the semester). Also, I only see cuatro of your cinco damas...be sure all members of your group have access to the blog.
